Hi 'Hedge Fun'...

Thanks' for clarifying things for me.

I'm sure UK T.V. did have a programme covering both Hedge Funds and un-ethical loans, this is probably where my misunderstanding has come from.

This programme spoke about both the UK and the US economy and housing market. Was either 'Panorama' or the 'Tonight' programme I think....

So does this mean you agree with "Uncle Sams" comment then?

I like your closing comment too..."take back from the tax collectors what they had forcefully stolen".
I have been looking into the income tax thing myself, and have come accross pages of documents stating that the IRS has no legal standing/Law to remove tax at source ! or thats my take on it. Not too sure now after Wesley Snipes court case though.

Hi Marc,

U.K. TV says hedge fund managers are knowingly hurting others? That such funds are unethical? And that they contributed to subprime mortgages?

Those are all ridiculously false. Your analogy is spot-on. It is the exact wrong end of the stick.

Hedge funds mitigate and alleviate pricing problems -- that's their raison d'etre (pardon the French).

It was federally regulated banks and quasi-governmental (now fully governmental) entities like Fannie and Freddie that unethically and intentionally gave out uneconomic loans that hurt businesses and caused the current crisis.

Are U.K. TV reports really blaming hedge funds? That's like blaming Robin Hood for high taxes, when all he did was take back from the tax collectors what they had forcefully stolen off of the poor peasants.

- Puttin' the fun back in hedge fun...

So are the reports on T.V. correct then?
Are "Hedge Fund Managers" knowingly hurting business and the economy.
Isn't the whole concept of a hedge fund un -ethical?
Sure, there will always be winners and losers in business, but haven't these 'Funds' contributed to high lending to people that can ill afford the re-payments, and therefore losing their homes?
Again, enlighten....
Have I got the wrong end of the stick here?

As an economic rapist, I am offended to be put into the same category as mere hedge fund managers, who do nothing more than help move capital to where it is most useful. I, on the other hand, have the courage to bail out bad companies and the integrity to use taxpayer funds.
